A cat’s eyes that are red or teary need immediate treatment. What to wash the cat’s eyes with? Rinse the eyes with antibacterial agents. You can get them at the drugstore. See list below:

  1. 0.9% sodium chloride solution;
  2. Furacilin in a solution; Boric acid (2% solution); 3; Chlorhexidine (0.01% solution);
  3. Potassium permanganate solution (light pink, weak);
  4. Chamomile flowers (brewed at home);

You can also use brewed tea or plain boiled water. The eyes are washed with a tight cotton tourniquet. This is dipped into the solution and the medicine is put into the eye. Cotton sticks should not be used - you may accidentally injure the animal. It is recommended to place tetracycline ointment under the eyelid after the eye washing is completed.
